There’s no driving around Cheltenham without popping into the charming little Chateaubriant. An iconic art-nouveau style facade gives this cute little cafe, patisserie and foodstore a distinctly French touch—as do the garlands of tricolour flags and rustic knick knacks decorating the cosy interior. Here you can pick up some of Auckland’s best baguettes and breads, as well as an ever changing range of beautifully buttery pastries and tarts, as well as the spongiest far bretons and madeleines you’ll ever sink your teeth into. If you want more than a grab-and-go french treat, pull up a seat and dig into their cafe dishes while you soak up the authentic atmosphere.
